Peak versus continuous
The single most misleading figure on a sleeving datasheet, and how to spot it.
Cordex
A sleeve rated “+300°C” is almost never rated +300°C. It survived +300°C for some short period under some defined condition, and that number got promoted to the headline.
The tell
If a datasheet gives one temperature figure and no duration, it is a peak. A continuous rating always comes with a range and usually with a hours-at-temperature qualifier.
Our format
Every Cordex product lists continuous service as a range. Where a peak exists it appears in brackets, labelled as a peak, and never replaces the continuous figure. Vantex VH10 is the clearest example: continuous to +225°C, peaks to +300°C, and the two are not interchangeable.
